ADVERTISEMENT FOR INVITATION OF APPLICATIONS FOR FACULTY ON CONTRACT AT MTI TUTICORIN CAMPUS

Maritime Training Institute, POWAI, the training branch of the Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. a Navaratna PSU requires nautical faculty on contract basis for the Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) Courses at their Tuticorin campus.

1. No. of Posts: 2
2. Terms of appointment:  Strictly on contract basis valid for 1 year from the date of engagement of contract which may be extended on yearly basis if mutually agreed by both.
3. Qualifications:  Holding COC of Master Mariner (FG) issued by D.G. Shipping, Mumbai or equivalent. Extra Master Certificate / M.Sc Degree from W.M.U, Malmo in Maritime Education and Training will be added advantage.
4. Age: The age of the applicant should not be more than 67 years as on 1st September 2013.
5. Experience: Applicants must have sailed as Deck Officer on Merchant Ships for a total of 5 Years or more out of which at least 1 year at Management level. Experience of Training in similar Institute will be given preference.
6. Applicants should posses D.G. approved certificate of Training for Trainers and Assessors (TOTA). If not attended and obtained TOTA Certificate same to be obtained within 3 months from joining MTI Tuticorin campus at applicant”s own cost and time from any D.G. approved Institute.
7. Emoluments: As per contract wages offered by SCI for DGM rank officers, which is presently Rs. 1,02,795/- per month (TDS as per ITax guidelines)
8. Working days : classes from Monday to Saturday. Additionally, there will be campus duty on all days (including Sundays & Holidays) on rotation basis.
9. Last date of receiving application: Applications in plain paper giving details age, experience, address, Telephone numbers, email address etc. should reach The Principal, Maritime Training Institute, 52-C Adi Shankaracharya Road, P.O. Sakinaka, Mumbai 400072 by 9th September 2013.
10. Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interviews at Mumbai. Candidates have to make their own arrangements for stay in Mumbai during this period.

6. Applicants should posses D.G. approved certificate of Training for Trainers and Instructors (TOTI). If not attended and obtained TOTI Certificate same to be obtained within 3 months from joining MTI Tuticorin campus at applicant”s own cost and time from any D.G. approved Institute.
